Wednesday, the middle of the week.
The point in time that everyone breathes a sigh of relief with the weekend in sight.
Then they grumble and kick stuff around when they realise they’ve still got DAYS to go.

I saw something interesting on the news the other night, they’re thinking about bringing in a policy into workplaces that you can be required to bring a medical certificate for one sick day. The normal thing is about three days…which makes sense because if you’re sick for three days it’s something a little more serious and you probably should go to the doctor anyway. But it’s crazy spending money on a doctors visit just for a headache or a cold.

Anyway the interesting thing about it was they did a poll of how many Kiwis had pulled a sickie – as in called in sick when they weren’t. And it was something crazy high like 79% had done it…and you know what – Wednesday was the LEAST likely day for it to happen. (Obviously Monday and Friday were right up the top there). I guess Wednesday must be some kind of sign of hope for people. Something that motivates them to get towards the weekend.

I’m looking forward to the weekend myself, I’ve got packing to do – the countdown is on for the move into the new flat! Woo!
