Woah baby! What a feast I’ve had this morning!
It’s a colleagues birthday and he bought tonnes of baked goodies without first letting me know, so I ALSO brought lots of sausage rolls and pastries and fruitsĀ – we had a feast – it was awesome.

The thing I’ve noticed though is he’s like the only person at work who actually openly celebrates his birthday.
It’s like accepted practise to keep your birthday a total secret until it’s atleast a week in the past, maybe because people don’t like getting old, maybe because people don’t want to bring cake and goodies to share, maybe because they’re frightened they will be tortured with a bad rendition of Happy Birthday To *mumble mumble*!

I think birthdays should be milked for all they’re worth. Birthdays are a great excuse to break diets, indulge yourself, be important and have fun whilst singing badly. I look forward to my birthday…it’s around 6 months off, but I still look forward to it.
