I have a problem with this dancing thing that I do. You see, you wear a special shoe when dancing, one with a suede sole normally and a plasticy type heel. Now most women wear high heels for the occasion, but me, well let’s just say it’s not my favorite. I prefer wearing a sneaker/jazz type shoe and with these shoes…comes socks.

Not just any socks mind you, special stocking material type sockettes. They’re super thin, so they won’t stretch your shoe by bulkiness. Sadly at present I don’t have a tonne of them and need to invest in more. Which means I have to wash them fairly often considering I dance on average 3-4 nights a week.

Now the problem comes when washing doesn’t happen as scheduled and I have to do a rushed sock wash in the sink before I leave for dance. That itself isn’t the problem, but it’s aftereffects certainly are. You see, when you wash socks, they get wet.

Yes, they do. And you can’t put on wet socks and then put on your expensive dancing shoes and expect everything to be alright. So you have to dry them, somehow, in the 15 minutes before you have to go dancing. I’ve tried many techniques now it seems, including hair dryers and ironing which all work relatively well, as long as you’ve got the time to spare. If you’re drive to dancing is around half an hour you can normally get them dry on the dash board with the demister going, just bare in mind you’ll need to leave the windows open the whole time because we heaters on full blast things heat up in there pretty quick.

And the last thing you want to do when you get out of a sauna of a car is put on your super hot foot mittens and go  rock your sockettes off on the dance floor. Believe me.
