Hi Guys!

Happy Monday! (Yeah, seriously it’s Monday and I’m still happy). What a weekend away I had! I’m back now from the Taranaki Ceroc Champs which were nothing short of splendid. I managed to bring home a sparkly pair of trophies to sit on my desk and look shiny.

I am super amounts really amazed/proud of my efforts, especially my Second Place for Advanced ‘Dance with a Stranger’. I managed to out dance everyone except the amazingly talented Hannah Honey. And it was really great to have my sister and brother in law down there watching and cheering me on!

Not only did I dance to the best of my ability, I also discovered a seriously tasty brand of muesli bar. Nice and Natural Superfruits! (Cranberry and blueberry flavor). They are seriously delicious.

The other thing about the trip was, I spent a lot of time in the car. The drive down was about 4-5 hours, the drive home the same. I discovered when your in the car and too tired to make conversation it’s the perfect chance to observe the world, the planet and the people. And I realised something.

While driving along the west coast, heading home from Taranaki, I was staring out the window at the relentless ocean. There had been weekend warnings of 8 metre swells and the waves were certainly getting large. As seafoam sprinkled us along the road I glanced out the window on the other side of the car, to the mountains. And I sparked a connection.

Mountains follow the same cycle as waves. They rear up and peak and then crumble and crash back down. Waves are merely mountains in super super fast forward. Or the other way around, mountains are earth waves in slow motion. I wonder if it would be possible, to film the life cycle of a mountain, and then play it in fast forward…just for a comparison. If only it wouldn’t take millenia..

ANYWAY on to more immediate matters, Overload Comic Convention is less than two weeks away now! I’ll let you guys know this week where abouts my table will be located (so you can come find me, and bring high fives). Meanwhile, behind the scenes I’m getting on with compiling the Woah! Roscoe books and posters – exciting! More news soon!
