Heya folks,
I’m sick again! Yessir that’s correct. So I’ve got the day off workies but have sadly also discovered I’m TERRIBLE at drawing when sick. So apologies folks if there’s a bit of a slump in W!R quality…which I hope there’s not. But yanno, yanno..
So because I have time to kill, being sick and what not, I was browsing a bit of Foodgawker and I came across this: Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n Waffles and simply had to post the picture up here. Now I don’t really understand the combination of Chicken & Waffles, obviously it’s something beyond my area of expertise. Are you a waffle and chicken eater? I thought you typically had chips with your chicken, and syrup with your waffles or cream even? Maybe I’m just uneducated.
Oops, I must have replied to this confusion in my head and not actually typed anything , , ,
I think Chicken and Waffles is an American thing. In particular a Southern American thing. Roscoe’s is super famous, and super famous people line up to eat there. I don’t get it myself, I think it’s confusing 2 very different meals. Waffles should be for breakfast. Or dessert, preferably with ice-cream. Deep fried chicken belongs next to mashed potatoes and gravy and beside a pile of coleslaw.
But then again, I haven’t ventured to partake of the chicken and waffles combination.
Aha! Those Southern Americans ae, trust them to put chicken with waffles, they’ve got chicken and biscuits too I hear. Next we’ll have chicken sponge cake.
Granted I haven’t had any southern style chicken which hasn’t been super tasty, maybe they’d pull it off?
I wonder if Roscoe will ever join the line of super famous hungry folk there…
