Much like “go to work with Dad” day, did you ever have one?? I don’t think I did. It seems a very American concept to me, though I’m not sure why. Maybe just because I got the whole concept from American movies over the years.
Thing is though, I’m pretty sure my parents would like to pop in to work for a minute just to check out the establishment. But I doubt that’ll happen on some kind of national scale, not to mention the parents with more than one child having to be in a few places at once (though they should be used to that kind of demand by that point in their lifetime journeys). Just my opinion, I’m not there.
If you are there, in the big bad world of parenthood, how do you do it?! How do you coordinate the lives of many little whippersnappers? How ever you do it, you’ll have to let me know one day. Thank you for your services to the universe!
I once went to work with Dad. It may have been for school – I can’t remember. He took me to Glenbrook Steel Mill.
Aha! So these American norms infiltrate our systems….was it awesome? Should it be more wide spread and common?
The Steel Mill was interesting. At the office I remember just sitting at a spare desk and doing stuff with an encyclopedia I’d brought with me.
So not too much milling about at the mill ae ;)
