I am super lucky to have some fabulous people in my life.

People who can cheer me up, people who turn the tides of negativity, people who when I just hang out or chat to them or whatever manage to plaster a goofy smile on my face. People who remind me of the random presents the universe pops in your back pocket, like that ten bucks you TOTALLY forgot you had.

Yesterday was a grouchy day for me, they happen sometimes (sometimes more than I’d like to admit). But what happened? Everyone fixed it. It’s fixed. My grouchy has been banished. My super talented, super nice dance partner made jam! Apricot jam! And it was kindly bestowed upon friends. What else? His beautiful partner (The Goddess of Baked Goods) made divine little ginger kiss style bites with jam centres and icing sugar snow on top. It was loooooooooovely.

And for those of you who don’t understand how much joy food brings me, another high note – I have finally got a dance move named after me and Tiger (if somewhat unofficially). Crouching Tiger, Turning Debbie may be gracing your dance class routines in no time.

If these positivities aren’t pummelling a smile into your face yet….What else?

Passionfruit. We found THREE on the ground beneath our vines the other day. THREE OF THEM.
So I picked em up, took em inside, opened me a can of fruit salad, whipped some cream, stirred through some of my very own home made crushed meringues and topped it with sweet passionfruit pulp.

Sorry just realised I went back to the food with that one.
But hey, I reckon if food doesn’t bring you joy, you’re doing it wrong. If it’s too boring or too expensive or too much effort – fix it! Take a cooking class, learn how to make traditional Asian dishes or how to chop super fast with your fancy knives, learn how to budget for food or grow your own veges to cook with. Cooking and eating is a HUGE part of life and so necessary. I think if you can learn to really enjoy and cherish the necessary parts of life you’ll be forced to eat happiness for three meals a day…and that sounds pretty darn awesome to me.

I love food so I’ve ticked that off, now to start learning to love and enjoy vaccuming or something…
