Hi guys!

It’s friday once again, which means work begins on the weekly update email! Make sure to sign up over there on the left if you haven’t already..

It was a stormy morning today, one of those ones where you feel like hibernating and calling in sick. I was strong though, I was brave, I got out of bed (after my love promised to cook me some breakfast) and I went to work, and while I was on my way I learnt I had done the right thing. You see I got stopped at some traffic lights behind a big blue truck and in the boredom of morning traffic humdrums I noticed something written along the back of it.

“The lead sled dog gets the best view”

That sounds pretty cool I thought to myself, but when the lights failed to turn green my little mind kept ticking over and I remembered a documentary I saw once about sled dogs and this saying was completely right. Those at the front are pulling the most weight, they’re working the hardest, breaking new ground and they get the best results – a view like no other, vast snow stretching before them to the horizon.

Now if we move down the line, there’s the middle dogs (that’s most of us) they’re cruising along, doing what the need to to keep the sled trucking along behind them, their view is obscured and every now and again they get pooped on my the lead dogs. Less work to do, less determination and over all less fun.

If we then get to the back of the line we find the laziest dogs, these guys are practically pulled along by the leaders the best they can do is try not to get run over by the sled. They can’t see whats up ahead and they’ve got a whole pack worth of doggie poop flying in their faces.

Now if we be philosophical like this.. are you motivated to be a better doggie? I am. I’m going to be a leader and earn myself the best view.

Anywho, sorry about getting so carried away – it was just a bit of a weekly insight I suposeĀ – back to the normal, human world.
